artificial horizon vacuum adaptors

artificial horizon vacuum adaptors: 2014-03-19

Lumix DMC-FT1

It was only after spending time modifying the AN840-6D fittings that I realised the artificial horizon was so long that the fittings would be too close to the firewall. The answer, of course, was right-angle fittings; the first one would be easy to fit, but the second one would be prevented from turning by the first one. So it had to be a 2-piece solution. I made these adaptors from a length of 3/4" hex aluminium, with a 7/16" x 20TPI male thread and a 1/4" NPT female thread. Each NPT tapping had to be positioned so that it faced away from the other port when the adaptor was fitted to the horizon.
