masking inside of starboard door glazing: 2022-10-31 Panasonic DMC-FT1
Masking tape applied to the inner face of the Perspex, aligned with the tape applied on the outer face, to indicate the inner edge of the door rebate. Several widths of tape used to build up a wide band.
masking inside of starboard door glazing: 2022-10-31 Panasonic DMC-FT1
Polyethylene sheet attached to the inner face of the Perspex, taped down around its edges onto the wide band of masking tape already applied. This is to ensure that no Redux, or even sticky fingerprints, can get onto the inner surface of the Perspex, except where it is needed around the edge. The trial fittings of the Perspex to check the edge trimming showed that it's difficult to handle the glazing and get it correctly positioned without accidentally touching areas that should not be bonded. A small tear in the polyethylene sheet has been repaired with masking tape.
