pulley guard: 2022-02-05 Panasonic DMC-FT1
The final shape of the guard to protect the sight gauge tubing from contact with the port rudder cable pulley. Ideally the aft end would have been a smooth curve, but a piecewise-linear approximation seems to work just fine!
pulley guard: 2022-02-05 Panasonic DMC-FT1
The final shape of the guard to protect the sight gauge tubing from contact with the port rudder cable pulley. It is narrow at the forward (left) end to keep the pulley access hole clear.
pulley guard fitted: 2022-02-05 Panasonic DMC-FT1
The guard fitted to protect the sight gauge tubing from contact with the port rudder cable pulley. It is just visible at the bottom right-hand corner of the access hole.
pulley guard fitted: 2022-02-05 Panasonic DMC-FT1
The guard fitted to protect the sight gauge tubing from contact with the port rudder cable pulley, as viewed from below. Despite appearances, the guard is NOT touching the pulley! When first installed, the sight gauge tubing seemed quite unlikely to be forced into contact with the pulley, but I feel the effort of adding the guard is worthwhile for peace of mind.
