Filing jig for flap hinge brackets: 2002 09 11.
Canon AV-1, Fujichrome Velvia 50.
You can do nearly anything with a bit of metal if you can hold it to work on it! I used a couple of lengths of aluminium angle to form a clamp that allowed access to the flap hinge brackets for chamfering the edges with a file.

This end view of the clamp, with the workpiece reversed, gives a better idea of how it works. The pieces of aluminium angle are held together with a couple of screws (one almost headless through the hinge bush), and then clamped in the vice (which here has home-made wooden soft jaws).
Flap hinge brackets primed: 2002 09 17.
Canon AV-1, Fujichrome Velvia 50.
Flap hinge brackets FL1, FL2, FL3 sprayed with zinc chromate primer after chamfering the edges as shown above. Note that the spray tapers off at the root ends where they will be embedded in the layup. The whole embedded area will get taken back to bare metal before the layup.
