door hinge gap

door hinge gap: 2017-02-02 Panasonic DMC-FT1

Looking into the forward hinge mounting rebate for the starboard door. The door is in its correct position flush with the fuselage skin, but there is a gap of about 3mm between the lower leaf of the hinge and the flat area upon which it should be mounted. This shows up here as the lower hinge leaf drooping at a significant angle compared to the upper leaf (fixed to the door). My original intention was to fill this gap with a piece of flat aluminium plate, which would bring the hinge leaves parallel to each other. However, the heads of the screws securing the lower hinge leaf to the fuselage prevent the hinges closing to parallel, so the packing piece will have to be slightly tapered.

Looking into the aft hinge mounting rebate for the starboard door. The door is in its correct position flush with the fuselage skin, but there is a gap of about 3mm between the lower leaf of the hinge and the flat area upon which it should be mounted. Here, although the lower hinge leaf is drooping at a slight angle compared to the upper leaf (fixed to the door), there is still space visible underneath it. My original intention was to fill this gap with a piece of flat aluminium plate, which would bring the hinge leaves parallel to each other.
