bonding shoot bolt guide: 2017-03-01 Panasonic DMC-FT1
Bonding in the shoot bolt guide at the aft end of the starboard door. This was the last of the guides to be bonded, and it caused more difficulty than any of the others. It may have been that I didn't make the Redux-flox mixture as stiff as for the previous guides, but it kept slipping out of position when the door was arranged this way up. This orientation was necessary to ensure that the liquid Redux injected around the back of the guide would not flow away from where it was needed. To keep the guide in place and square while bonding, I found a piece of 15mm copper pipe and cut it to a suitable length to slide over the shoot bolt and prop the guide in position. The curing of the Redux took place in the boiler cupboard where the climate is warm.
