The nipple screwed fully into the socket. I can't quite get my thumbnail into the clearance between the parts, which indicates that the assembly is satisfactory. Note also that the band of yellow tape is still butting up close to the back of the socket, showing that the hose has stayed in the correct position during the assembly.
