throttle box with custom washers

throttle box special washers fitted

throttle box special washers fitted: 2019-09-19 Panasonic DMC-FT1

The stiffnut holding the throttle lever on the pivot setscrew tends to loosen with movement of the lever. To prevent this, I added extra custom-made washers on each side of the existing washers - thanks to Kelvin Weston who suggested this solution. The custom washers were shaped to fit against the bottom of the throttle box and are thus prevented from rotating. The one on the left side of the picture is probably not necessary, but it was little bother to add it. Reading from the left side of the picture there is the head of the EURO23 setscrew, AN970-4 washer, side wall of the throttle box, AN970-4 washer, spacer TH05, AN316-4R checknut, custom steel washer, AN970-4 washer, EURO22 plastic washer, throttle lever, EURO22 plastic washer, AN970-4 washer, custom aluminium washer, AN970-4 washer and MS21042-4 stiffnut. Both of the custom washers are shaped to rest against the base of the box to prevent any rotation with the movement of the throttle lever. The left-hand steel washer is made from a scrap of stainless steel firewall sheet, and the right-hand aluminium one from 18AWG 6061 alloy.
