dipped firesleeve test: 2019-11-22 Panasonic DMC-FT1
A short length of firesleeve cut open after dipping in the RTV-toluene mixture and drying. I had hoped the mixture might penetrate more deeply into the glass matrix. One end was dipped in a slightly more dilute mixture, but that does not appear to have visibly affected the degree of penetration.
dipped firesleeve test: 2019-11-22 Panasonic DMC-FT1
A short length of firesleeve cut open after dipping in the RTV-toluene mixture and drying. Although the mixture did not penetrate as deeply into the glass matrix as I had hoped, it does at least seem to have had the desired effect of holding the glass in place even when flexed quite severely.
