Ampreg 20 mix tolerance
This is the printout of a spreadsheet, constructed from information given by David Cripps of Structural Polymer Systems about Ampreg 20 in a Europa Club seminar, Shoreham, 1996-12-07. He presented a slide assuring us that the cured mix will achieve 99% of its specified mechanical properties provided that the proportions are within those shown. I used the dimensions calculated here to get the pump set up approximately correct before making final adjustments based on calibration runs.
Calibration: 2001-02-22 [back to journal page]
Here's an early version of the calibration spreadsheet. I constructed it for easy checking of the values obtained from a calibration run on the resin pump. This shows the precision achieved when first setting up the pump, weighing after each stroke with the Ohaus scale. All strokes are well within the required tolerances (as defined in the figure at the top of this page).
Calibration: 2007-11-22 [back to journal page]
This is a later version of the spreadsheet. I've added quite a bit more information, but not all of it is needed or useful! Here you can see that most strokes are well-matched and acceptable (based on the criteria above) apart from the last one.
Calibration: 2009-04-13 [back to journal page]
And this is the latest calibration run after a complete rebuild of the pump, and adjusting the hardener link by about 0.6mm outwards from the old position, showing the improved statistics from the extra digit of resolution on the Satrue scale.
