over-centre test bosses: 2015-08-27

Lumix DMC-FT1

I machined these test bosses from pieces of round aluminium bar. At the right-hand end each one has a 3/8" diameter boss to match the diameter of the LG04 pivot pin through the LG02 swinging arm. The piece on the left fits into the bore of the upper pivot (LG09) and the other one fits over the head of the clevis pin forming the pivot between LG08 and LG05. With both bosses in place, a straight-edge can be laid against the forward and aft faces of all 3 projecting 3/8" diameters to determine whether the linkage is over-centre.
