top half dipole installed: 2021-02-16 Panasonic DMC-FT1
The upper half of the dipole comm antenna fitted to the fin port flange. The copper tape is self-adhesive, but to provide a better bond I coated the bonding area with Evo-Stik contact adhesive and let it dry slightly before applying the tape. At the top, the tape extends over a hump at the joint between the fin skin and the cap, but I don't think that slight non-linearity will affect performance much. In any case, most of that will probably be removed when tuning the antenna. The coax cable for the antenna is visible emerging from the sternpost, near the bottom end of the copper tape.
