Part of the underside of the starboard aileron while sanding off paint and filler. Several layers are visible. At upper centre the pale green-blue-ish colour is the glass-fibre layup with the blue foam core showing through it. Around that is a neutral white layer, which is the Expancel filler I applied quite thickly before handing over to Ryan for profiling - I had expected him to take most of it off again. Next, in the foreground, is a creamy-yellowish layer which I guess is the undercoat/primer/filler Ryan used. Finally at lower left is the white top coat (automotive 2-pack). The (glossy) un-sanded surface looks slightly grey, with a whiter strip on the edge where it is chamfered down to the primer.
