spanner jammed on firewall fuel elbow
spanner jammed on fuel elbow: 2019-09-30 Panasonic DMC-FT1
The fuel hose was attached to the engine mount with cable ties to allow tightening of the elbow backnut and hose nut behind the firewall, but this was not quite secure enough. So, I clamped an adjustable spanner onto the flat section of the elbow, and jammed it against the landing gear frame with an offcut of wood. At the right-hand end of the stainless steel firewall is a section of grommet edging to prevent chafing of the Bowden cables on the steel edge, and it is held in place with red RTV high-temperature sealant. The other little splash of red on the firewall is my blood. I thought I had smoothed off all the edges of the firewall sheet, but must not have been thorough enough - the join between the two upper panels got my finger while I was positioning the spanner.
