extending horn box recess: 2008-02-18.
Nikon Coolpix 8400
The position of the recess for the outboard aileron horn box on the port wing didn't quite match the position of the aileron horn, so had to be extended about 10mm outboard. Here the foam has been removed for a short distance and the edge tapered as the original. The surrounding area has been scuff-sanded in preparation for a BID patch. The black outline of the horn was first marked on the underside of the wing (where it was easier to line up the aileron) and then traced on the inside using a bright light underneath. The blue ragged lines are the edges of the BID trailing edge reinforcement.
