The first trial fitting of the propeller to the engine, with the upper part of the cowl in place. The distance from the spinner to the cowl is about 9mm.

The first trial fitting of the propeller to the engine, with the cowl in place. The ends of the propeller retaining bolts are scraping against the front face of the cowl. This is not really a problem as the central area of the cowl around the propshaft will be removed later.

Propeller and cowl trial fitted. With the propeller bolts pushing back against the front of the cowl, the lower cowl now reaches the fuselage joggle.

With the cowls removed, the very small gap between the nose of the gearbox and the ends of the propeller bolts can be seen. This is not a problem as the propshaft hole in the cowl will later be enlarged to clear the bolts.
